On May 24th of this year, one of the most popular artist of this decade performed in Santiago, Chile. The ex-boyband member Louis Tomlinson brought his world tour, “Faith in the Future,” to Estadio Bicentenario. His two hour long concert, plus his two headliners brought warmth and euphoria to a freezing Friday night of May.
The countdown for his concert began in the early morning of that Friday, as fans began to line up in hopes for frontline seats. The doors of the stadium opened up around 4:00 pm and fans raced to their spots. This concert had two opening acts: The chilean singer Benjamín Walker, and a german band called “Giant Rooks.” Benjamín Walker began at 6:00 pm and “Giant Rooks” setlist started at 7:30 pm. The atmosphere was full of joy and adrenaline, although in some parts too crowded, and fans were fainting left and right.
Louis Tomlinson came out at around 9:00 pm and all you could hear were screams. He played 12 of his top hits, with iconic moments such as the lyric change in “Chicago” to Santiago, and his awe for the fan projects in his songs “Kill My Mind” and “Saturdays.” Louis’ performance was top tier, you could see everyone having the time of their lives. The only weakness of this concert was the production team. At times the situations got out of hands, and many fans were put at risk.
Overall, the event was amazing. Louis sang his heart out to his dedicated and loving fans, on a beautiful and thrilling night. This concert is definitely in my top three favorite concert experiences. I would 100% recommend that if you get the chance to attend a Louis Tomlinson concert, please do. You will treasure the memories forever.
